Aunt Betsy's Jello Shots

By Lauren Koss

Updated October 7, 2007

Every Saturday in the Fall my Dad, Uncle, and my Dad's friends all tailgate for Michigan at The Wolverine Den. My Aunt Betsy comes to every single tailgate (most of the time anyway).

A few years ago, she started making non-alcoholic jello shots (jello shots are just jello in a small cup with alcohol in it). They are so good because she makes them with sprinkles or gummy bears sometimes!

My first jello shot was yellow (I think it was either coconut or pineapple). It didn't have any sprinkles or gummy bears in it because it was the first time Betsy had ever made them for kids.

The first time I saw them, I had no clue what they were and how to eat them, but they did tell me I could only use my tongue (no fingers or spoons). It was so hard for me to eat it all with just my tongue. The third or fourth time I had a jello shot, I started to get the hang of it!!!

From that moment, I knew that it would be a tradition to have jello shots every Saturday in the Fall with my Aunt Betsy.
