Michigan ended up with 91 total yards of offense (including 49 on their only scoring possession in the 1st quarter). The offense had only 8 first downs, 15 net yards of rushing and completed only 32% of its passes. OSU was lead on defense by Detroit-native, Vernon Gholston, who recorded 3 sacks.
The Michigan defense was more formidable – holding Ohio State to a season-low 279 yards of offense. The big play was a 62-yard TD run by Chris Wells on their opening drive of the 2nd half. The Buckeye passing game was held to 50 yards. Michigan was lead by Shawn Crable, who recorded 10 tackles, 2 ½ for loss. Punter Zoltan Mesko had his best day as a Wolverine and kept Michigan in the game by changing the field position. He ended up with 3 punts inside the 10 yard line and an average of 46 yards per punt on 12 punts.

- Shawn Crable set the Michigan season record for Tackles-For-Loss. His 2 ½ TFL’s gave him 26 ½ for the season breaking the record of 26 held by Larry Foote and Mark Messner.
- The 91 total yards of offense was the lowest total for a Michigan team since the 1950’s.
