Game Summary
The Michigan Wolverines improved to 3-0 on the season with a convincing victory over their Washtenaw County neighbors from EMU. After a close first half, Michigan made the proper adjustments on defense and held Eastern scoreless in the 2nd half. The offense, meanwhile, continued to play with great execution – especially in the running game. The Wolverines piled up 380 yards on the ground with six rushing touchdowns. It was the most yardage for Michigan on the ground since 2003. Leading the way was Carlos Brown who had 187 yards rushing, including a 90-yard scamper in the 1st half. It was the 3rd longest run from scrimmage in Michigan history. Denard Robinson scored twice on runs of 13 and 36 and both were highlight reels of the Michigan speedster. Michigan now leads the Big Ten in scoring (38.0 per game) and in rushing (270 yards per game). While there is work to do on defense, the young Wolverines are progressing and appear ready for the Big Ten season.
